Wow! Can you help me with my old Silverado? I was thinking about getting a shortblock from the Chevy house, then going from there. Whadaya think? I'm not lookin to haul arse. Although it would be nice to be able to ifn I wanted to. Better yet, maybe we could get together on one of those full blown, 6 second liquid quarter milers.

Yes, I think that will do it

I was waitin for a high dollar rig to get up next to me in that pic. A few minutes later he was handin over a C-note 'cause he swore that big ole Ranger could outrun my rig. It was over before it really began. I thought I was gonna have to chace him down for my C-note, but he relented and pulled up, stood up and paid up. Momma was on the 'toon screamin at me sumthin 'bout not takin advantage of the un-informed. I never took my wide brim hat off.

Texan, I'll offer any advice I can. You can order a crate motor from Jegs.com if you don't want to build one (I like to prove what I drive) but you have to consider fuel delivery, clutch management, power delivery, weight transfer, chassis torque application and all that (racing has made me go to a lot of schools!). Or, just throw a big ol' motor in her and stomp on it! Git 'er done!
