What's up party people? Just kidding, I have been interested in BBQ for years. I love the stuff, but never really put the effort into learning. My dad is a pro, but it's almost impossible to get anything out of him. I want to know the whys, not just the how's.

Anyway, just purchased a Masterbuilt 30" to begin learning. I don't really want to focus on temperature control right now while I learn other things. I will eventually buy a rig, or have one built.

Any information for a newb would be great, I just started the preseasoning process, and am excited for my first smoke.

Welcome from Texas!

This is an addictive venture, have fun with it.

I sent you a PM with a link to my BBQ workbook.  Good info for folks just beginning and it's free.

Welcome aboard HokaHey!  This is a great place to learn and share ideas on smoking, grilling, curing, etc.  Lots of of good people here who really know their stuff and genuinely enjoy helping one another.  Looking forward to your input around here, and just ask when you need anything...someone will surely have the answer.
