Good afternoon! I’m a new member and excited to be here. I’m looking forward to connecting with y’all, learning, and contributing where I can.
I was born and raised in Houston and Pasadena, Texas, and grew up loving my dad’s and uncle’s barbecue. Around age 13, my dad let me cook on his Old Smokey grill, and that’s where it all started for me.
Years later, my biological father gave me an Oklahoma Joe’s Classic Offset as a housewarming gift. I had been saving for a larger stick burner, but learning to smoke on this smaller offset has been a blast and taught me a lot. I’ll still have that custom smoker someday, though—haha!
