A buddy asked about converting grams to Tablespoons and Teaspoons when using the dry cured bacon calculator.  I found this site that seems to be a pretty good resource for all of us.

I recommended this conversion intended for table salt to measure the cure mix

I haven't check the accuracy of the tables

We should all measure cures with digital scales but I hope this helps in a "pinch"

I love Himalayan salt..I am sure this is not advice to use it for curing.

Thanks for catching that Jimmy!  Just goes to show you what happens when you are not paying 100% attention!

It said Pink Salt, I asked why you would need a conversion for pink salt when Cure 1 is almost 94% table salt.  And I didn't answer my own question.

So   Just use the conversion for Standard Table Salt when needing to convert Grams of Cure 1 to tablespoons or teaspoons

Better yet,

Buy a scale and use weights when measuring cure mixes!

I didn't even know the Himalayans dyed their salt pink.  Their robes and curtains yes but salt? 

There is a slight difference in the two calculators (about 2.5%).  When using volume measurements for cures you can introduce a decent amount of error and I don't know if 2.5% is significant.  I need to check that one day.

Himalayans dont dye the salt..it's about 200 million years old..
