Is anyone else having an issue with Amazon??? First, a few months ago, my wife get emails regarding the 75 REVIEWS she gave assorted products. Since Amazons inception, Bev has not purchased 75 items!
Next, Bev actually makes a purchase and our Bank Account is put on hold, FOR THREE WEEKS, for Hundreds of Dollars of suspicious purchases, from multiple addresses, around the country. OK, this stuff happens. A few months pass and Bev makes an Amazon purchase an BAM! Same issue, suspicious purchases. We delete Bev's Amazon account.
Last week I made an Amazon purchase and, That's Right Folks, my Bank Account is suspended for the same S#!T. WTF?
Two of my Kids have Prime Accounts and have had no issues. Just our Regular Accounts.
The big PITA is like many, we stopped carrying Cash, you know, too much trouble to go to the Bank. When the Account is suspended, the account is locked until investigated and the Bank, gets around to issuing a new Debut Card. Anyone else seeing this issue?...Suggestions? Amazon often has the best price on something we are looking for...JJ

Sounds like you have been hacked. Also your credit cards maybe also. Go to bank, face to face, see what you can do from that end, also call your credit cards and tell them what is going on and ask for help including a new card with different numbers.
Luck to you. Hope the mess doesn't take a long time to clear up.

We stopped using Credit Cards, no control. This was just with our Debit Cards. Amazon has no comment on the problem. The Bank, takes their sweet time getting things straightened out too...JJ

Never use your debit card for online purchases. Some banks are setting up what are basically pay as you go credit cards for online purchases, but the catch is that any phishing attempt will not bring the card back to you or your account, it only brings them to the bank routing number. It is a firewall protection for online shopping. Look into it, and find a bank which will set this up for you.

i've never had it happen but I bet it's the biggest pita, i've rarely use a debit card for this, always a credit card. amazon is usually pretty good with customer service but maybe like a lot of other companies that's going down also

were there any links in the initial emails that you guys clicked on? if so, i'd disconnect that computer from the network and reinstall the OS for fear it's infected.

and with a credit card, you can dispute charges. with a debit card, it's as good as losing cash with no recourse.

We never had a Debit card, but with our Credit cards, they always take care of problems with somebody else using them, and they send us a new card with new numbers. I can't remember how many times they sent us new cards, because somebody was trying to help spend my Pennies..

All of my Son's employees have one of his Company Credit cards, but so far he never had a problem.

Hope you get that straightened out, Jimmy!!

So in my real life I work in IT and it sounds like this may not be an issue with Amazon but an issue with your computer. It's a little bit of a reach but you may have a keystroke logger installed on on your computer. That's scary stuff.

Did not use a Computer. 99% of the time we do everything from phones. I will look into Pay to Play Credit Cards. Thanks...JJ

Bezos has to pay for that 150 billion dollar divorce somehow. :emoji_sunglasses:

Some banks will basically set it up as a pass through. The account is empty, unless you make a charge on it, and then the bank will transfer funds from your debit to the bank card account. So even if the phishing is successful- there are no funds to steal. The bank keeps the firewall internally on their systems...

Agree never use debit card for these type purchases

On amazon, we have an ‘Amazon’ CC (it’s really thru Synchrony Bank, and get another 5% off when using it) and that is the Only pmt method we use on their site. Have done probably hundreds of transactions over several years ... Never a problem.

I had a similar problem last year and went to secondary authorisation for my account. If I, or my wife, or anyone else try to log in from another computer, they send an authorization code to my phone. It stopped all the problems.

How'd you set that up?

Thanks and sounds like a good plan but, my wife set that up years ago. While it has worked, for some items, it was no help these last three hacks...JJ

Sorry to hear about your problems with Amazon. We are big Amazon customers, prime, watch streaming and make many purchases. You need to cancel those credit cards , start fresh. We buy Amazon gift cards at local Kroger, get points for gasoline. Load gift card on Amazon, it's a snap on your phone. When I'm looking to buy something big we really load it up. No problems at all.
