Not super Picky.
Best Value, Peter Vella box wines. Let's me have a glass or 2 and Cook with it, without having to drink a bottle. Though, depending whose around, it's not a problem that my kids won't remedy.
Favorite Imported Bottle, Banfi Col di Sasso of Tuscany. A Sangiovese and Cabernet Blend that has a great Nose with flavors of Black Cherry, Ripe Berries, Smoke and has a lot of Legs. One of those that the Flavor is well described be the description. It's not expensive at $10-$15 a bottle.
Favorite PA Winery, Nissley Vineyards. A small family operation that makes some great wine. I use to live just a few miles away and became friends with the patriarch, Richard Nissley. He loved to show off those Special Reserve, Family Only, bottles. A couple of glasses and " I " was Family and given a bottle to take home. But, Sadly, 30 years later Richard has passed and I live 4 hours West. Nissley makes several different styles of wine but the State owned Liquor stores only carries 3 or 4 and none I'm crazy about.
In days gone by, 70's early 80's, it was BOONE'S FARM, WILD MOUNTAIN GRAPE! Got some FUN stories courtesy of Boone's Farm, but this is a Family Friendly Forum!
