I am fortunate to live much-too-close to the "Lodge Mother Ship" in S. Pittsburg, TN. (This presents definite issues at Christmastime!) After learning from their website that they use Canola oil in their factory seasoning process, I simply bought a spray-can of it at the grocery. Spray it on, wipe the excess off with a paper towel, and bake for an hour. (I use 450º.) Turn off the oven before you go to bed, and allow it to cool naturally overnight. Done.
