Does any body have a good method for making some metal angled sausage rods. What is the best metal to use?

I use 1" wood dowels cut to length and cut a flat spot on each end. They rest perfectly stable on the rack supports. Nothing fancy and cheap, took 10 minutes to make. One inch Aluminum Angle should work too but more expensive and harder to cut...JJ

I am thinking I will get bigger wood rods and do something like the posted link. I just saw the metal ones on a video and liked the way the snack sticks hung from it.
