I had intentions of using this Auber PID Controller with my MES, but after reading the various threads regarding its set up, I have discovered that my electrical skills leave much to be desired and I can live without it. Therefor, if anyone would like to have this controller please let me know. If you are willing to pay for the postage, you may have it for the cost of the postage. I am expecting numerous responses, so I will wait until next Saturday (9/19/26) @ 9:00 EST and pick a name from my hat.

Thanks,
John

Put me in the hat if you would please

That's a nice gesture for sure . I don't remember seeing that you had bought one , plenty of help here .
It's intimidating for sure , but once done you laugh at yourself at how simple the rewire is , or just put a pigtail right to the element and you're done .

Thanks for the encouragement but I really don't use my MES that often. . .I'm more inclined to use my UDS, Weber Kettles, and Smokey Jo. . .If my MES was a small engine I wouldn't have a problem, but electronics have always puzzled me because I really had no interest in it.

I'm with chopsaw. Seriously, someone here will help you get it right. I'd give it another shot at install and just start a thread with pics so someone can answer any questions you have along the way. No harm no foul.

Personally, as an owner of a MES (relatively new), I haven't had issues with temps. I really have no desire to get involved with redoing the controls (and I have built such controls for a living for about 35 years). I have everything needed already and still not interested. What I would recommend is the external smoke attachment so you can do low temp stuff. Fact is, it's great for high temp stuff too. IMHO, the newer MES units are worthless without it. I borrowed a 10 year old one before buying mine and that was awesome straight out of the box. Mine... not so much. It's hard to believe they could screw em up that much...
