Last night's Ida remnants made Henri look silly.9+ inches of rain, lightning, microbursts and funnel clouds.

Feel really bad for those in NY/NJ especially those folks in NJ that got whacked with that massive tornado.

This is only one section of a road in my hometown.Water is a powerful thing.

I lost my my home (and cars and furniture and legal docs and family heirlooms) back in 2013 when a 1000 year flood hit Austin.
Lived there 36 years and never heard a peep out of Onion Creek until we did.

Never even had a wet spot in my basement until the 2010 Spring floods and we were lucky in my house, only had about a foot of water in the basement.A lot of folks back then had there furnaces and washer/dryer floating at their bulkhead doors and it was early Spring and it got cold afterwards.

Was having flashbacks of 2010 last night and this morning. The sump did its job, wish I had it back in 2010.Talk about a sleepless night.

My niece and her husband live in Middlesex, NJ. Their new for them home of 2 years and both relatively new cars, took on 4 feet of water. They have a 1 year old girl and my niece is Pregnant! They were rescued off the roof and will be living with my Brother until God knows when. I have no idea if they had Flood Insurance. I certainly hope they did...JJ

Floods are horrible! In 1990, my office in Pratt, KS had 38" of water standing in it on Monday morning when the Ninnescah river flooded. Dead shad in the desk drawers and mud everywhere. It was the worst thing I had ever experienced. Thank God our home is on high ground here in KC. The animals will be pairing up before we take on any water.
