Eating on the company dime.

Went to Dantanna's Surf and Turf for dinner... oh DAYUM!

Filet medium rare, stuffed with fried oysters and mushrooms, topped with a béarnaise sauce. Asparagus and garlic mashed potatoes for a side. Appetizer was peppered calamari with calmatta olives.

I'm stuffed!

I think the calamari were actually onion rings and oysters where Rocky mountain oysters.

On a serious note...Nice meal. That's it with business travel...The high point of the 12h work day is a decent dinner and a drink. Then write some business emails, call family and off to bed.

Looks tasty,hope you tipped well!

Sure did, company states nothing less than 20%. She got 25 tonight, didn't charge me for one of my drinks!

Are you sure that was calamari????

I find that picture frightening, but exciting to consider!

Right on target! They feed us week and keep us in great hotels. This week, I'm in the

No complaints out of me this week. Now, call the bride and conk out until 0500!

Cranky -   OMG I envy you.

Those Hotel prices are so TOTALLY insane.

You must provide value for your employer.

Is it too personal to ask what you do?

Really sorry if I am out of line, just don't understand "that world".

I'm like a $60 max a night guy.

And that's a stretch.

No need to answer if you prefer not to.

The business travel is hard on you and the family.....    Looking forward to a great meal, priceless.....    That's the way I always looked at it....

Now, I wouldn't mind doing a little traveling if I could stay in hotels like that & eat those kinds of meals.

But being retired it's Holiday Inn Express & Denny's for us!

No issues Marc.

I work for one of the largest privately owned companies in the US within the Global Health and Safety group. I travel quite a bit to many of our paper and packaging facilities to provide training and other resources as they need.

So basically, Im the "damn safety guy". LOL

There are a few of us that are road warriors and they take pretty good care of us. I don't eat like that every night. Most nights it's grab something to take back to the room and then start working on work stuff while eating.

If I were a single guy, this much travel would rock, but it gets old fast! Some days I wake up in the eastern time zone and go to sleep in Pacific.

0500 is way out of the norm. We were meeting with the 3rd shift folks this morning at a mill.

Yeah Dave, I treat myself once per trip or per week, depending on the length of the trip. Tonight, it'll be sports bar wings to go.

Thankfully the boys are grown and gone. I wouldn't travel like this if they were still at home.

Cranky - Sorry about getting too personal.

Thank you for a kind response.

Yes, I have never "been there", in a traveling employment situation, but I| do have a glimpse of the traveling from home and family thing, that needs to be recompensed.

Thank you again, Very much for your kindness,

Sorry, I did exceed boundaries.

Sounds like a very interesting job, I missed that in my Life.

You sound to be very metering, not taking advantage of "expense account" , in your travels.

VERY Honorable.        Marc

Well, actually even before the German post.

VERY cool to make sausage and cook how you do.

Very nice.

Whenever , very rarely, we travel, my fave is always good takout, with a few self procured adult beverages, in the motel room, TV on, with my Beautiful Bride.

Laredo Taco Company at Valero is my go to, if in the area.

Note -  $10 bucks at Arby's is AWESOME, but sucks big time re heated.

I have this thing (problem ? ) where I want a few solid beverages before I eat, and I NEVER drive after that, problem is then the food gets cold.

We have fun here, just the truth.
