The sad news, our boy will most likely miss the birth, he will either just be finishin up trainin, er on his way to Afganastan. Can't beleive it, kids got titanium plates an screws in his neck an a blocked artery an there gonna send him over! What the sam hill is our military comin too?! There so short a soldiers they are willin to take stupid chances. Well, I guess all I can do is hope fer the best. Will be his last deployment, his contract was extended by 3 months because it runs out while he will be overseas.

Keep us in yer thoughts yall.

Conrat's on the first one, and sad on the second. I agree about the military.

Congrats on the Grand Yungin....Bummer on the new assigment for your son. If it was not for peopl such as him doing what he does, chance are we would not be enjoying things that we take for granted such things as small as SMF....

Tell your Son I for one said Thank You.........

Trav I will be saying a small prayer for his safe return.

Let us know when the happy event happens and also when your Son is back home once again.

The Canadian Coast Guard always told the guys on isolated postings that the singlemen would be a 2 year stint and the married guys would be 3 years. The promise was then we would get a better posting. No one ever got reposted in 2 years and 5 years, it was always 3 years for the single guys and us married blokes always got stuck with 5 or 6 years. Its a game they like to play with us.

Tomorrow is rememberance day Here in Canada and its also my birthday. I give thanks every year that those brave boys fought so that I could be free and have the wonderful life that I have had. I was 1 year old to the day when WWII ended. Give your Boy my thanks for his service when you can will you.

Well congrats on being grandparents. Its a tough life for folks in the military, thats for sure. And add kids to the mix, its even tougher. Yeah its kinda messed up with the extended deployments, but rest assured, your boy will be ok.

Tell him that his service to his county is greatly appreciated. Make sure you tell him, because so many take what he does for granted. I do not, and he and your family will be in my thoughts.

It's been crazy for those who serve. I have heard some stories that just make you hang your head and pray like you never have before. I know many however that have had massive injuries including having prostectic arms and legs in the WTU units, and they would still rather be over sea's with their units in whatever capacity they could.

Trav I will say a prayer for you and your families strength.

First off congrats on the whole grandparent thing it great isn't it. Now for the latter subject I also can feel for you because our olderest son will be going back to Iraq sometime in december hopefully after christmas but the army this time (he's formerly a marine) has not done very good on timing. I also want to thank your son for all he does and has done for all of us here in the states. We feel for you to and all the other military parents out there too.

The greatest concern is the blocked artery in his neck, doc said under severe stress an strain it could break loose an go ta his brain (stroke) er to his heart (heart attack) or kill him. I just don't see there reasonin takin a chance like this with my boy. I know he would rather go, but I can't see the risk thats bein taken. Won't do them fellers no good if he keels over at his gun niether.

Well, I guess were just gonna hope fer the best, bout all we can do. Gonna be one he!! of a party when he gets home this time!

Tell him thank you for me too!!!!!!

Yer family will be in my prayers...........

First, we here would like to congratulate you and your family on a future new addition. Hope the pregnancy will go smoothly for her.

Second, Thanks to you, your family, and especially your son for the sacrifice you all are making for the better of us all. I can only imagine how difficult if must be for you all. I know you worry about your son going and even more so with his past injuries, but I am glad to here he wants to go and serve his country. His dedication to protect us back home makes us all proud of him and the rest of our military.

Trav, congrats on the news about becoming Grandparents. My prayers for your son for a safe return.
