I ordered brisket from a recommended butcher and when I got it home, this is what I got...

Can anyone tell me what I am supposed to do with this? I've got 3 of these but they look nothing like any brisket I have ever seen. They had packers but they were frozen and I have to cook for 100 people tomorrow. I might have to run up to Restaurant Depot. Thoughts???

The main issue is that they aren't very thick. I've never seen a brisket as thin as these, not a whole heckuva lot of meat. I'll just have to keep a very careful eye on them.

Thanks for the quick responses.

Thats not a brisket. Looks like trim from the rib area.

Bring it back and get your money back, someone made a mistake.

That's great if he was in the market for "flank type steak" but he wasn't he wanted brisket, which he clearly didn't get.

Definitely looks like it came from the Rib area!
If I wanted Brisket, I'd take that back for a good old "WTF?"

I've already rubbed them and put them away for the night. I paid $2.89 a pound. Should I slice them and grill them like skirt steaks? They are fairly thin.

The longer I sit here thinking, the more ticked off I am getting.

I got them from a supposedly reputable butcher. Never again! I'll just stick with the packers from Rest. Depot.

If it was me, I'd try one of them exactly like I do Beef Ribs.

Like This:
Smoked Beef Prime Rib Dinos (With Extra Meat)

If it comes out Great, like I think it will, I'd do the rest the same way.

Well, like I said, I have already rubbed them, so returning them is not going to happen. Plus, I don't feel like driving another 1 1/2 hrs up and 1 1/2 hrs back. Just another reason not to go to New Jersey!

Thanks for the responses. I'm going with Bears' recommendation for 2 of them, smoking them like ribs. The last one I am probably going to slice it up and try grilling it, hot and fast. I'll let you know how I do.
