I just read that the beef that's being imported is supposed to be added/blended with domestic beef to form burgers used at fast food joints.
The article also stated that it may or may not have been through inspection or tested for micro critters harmful to humans.
In addition it has been frozen a long time and some of it has been frozen for a LONG time and is no longer fit to eat, as in freezer burned.
China and others I believe have already rejected this same meat due to quality controls and inspection results.
I don't buy fast food anymore but this meat sounds off putting to me.
I hope the blended stuff does not find it's way to my HEB or that is gets inspected first, but as of now the Texas burger meat in my deep freeze is going to have to last until I hear better news.
There's a story about how the Brazilian beef mogul made his deal to import these aged out meat cubes which also has my stomach turning over.
