It feels like the devil himself farted on us, it's been 108* plus out here for the last 4 days.
Yesterday was 110* and it stayed 90* until 10:00 PM, it's now 1:30 AM, and it's still 78* and to make things worse, it's smokey due to wildfires. Today and the rest of the week are supposed to be 110-112*, I don't even need to start a fire to smoke things, I can just toss it on the driveway.
At least we haven't lost power yet, so the AC has been working overtime, (I prob just jinx us).
I can't wait to see our next power bill, it looks like hotdogs for the rest of the month...LOL!!!
I can't handle this crap anymore, I want out, so I can complain about something else.
:emoji_anguished::emoji_disappointed::emoji_laughing:

IT'S 95 HERE AT 2:30 IN THE MORNING, BE 116 THIS AFTERNOON. AC HAS BEEN RUNNING 24/7 FOR A GOOD MONTH, 220 TO POWER THE POOL ADDS UP FAST. POWER BILL IS ABOUT HALF WHAT IT WAS WHEN WE LIVED IN CA, PROPERTY TAX A QUARTER, BAD AIR BUT NO SMOKE TO CHOKE ON. ONLY THING WE MISS IS HE OCEAN, AND WITH NO FISHING THERE HAPPY SOLD MY BOAT BEFORE THEY CLOSED THE OCEAN. CA SUCKS.

I would die!!!
Anything above 90 these days is too much for me.

Our gas and electric combined in the summer months is $325 to $375 a month, and goes up about $100 more per month in the winter time.
More to come, we just ordered a 220v hot tub a few weeks ago. LOL!!!

And you are absolutely right, CA sucks bad these days.

Without getting political, the whole country will become like CA, if Newsom makes his way to the big house.....you can bet that!!!

We've been in the upper 90's to 100℉, but the heat index has put us well over 100℉. Our humidity is always 80% or higher, right now at 6:50 am, it's 94%. This morning was a little reprieve, it is 66℉ with a high forecast to around 92℉. This won't last as the forecast for Friday is for a high of 101℉ with a heat index of 111℉...

Truck read 81 degrees coming in to work this morning at 7am. Humidity at 84% Looking for a high of 96 degrees. Yeah swamp a$$ is in full effect down south.

It’s been in the 90’s here with high humidity, with lows in the 70’s. Usually we have a breeze blowing so it’s not that bad, but the last few days the air is just not moving. The pool is about the only place to be. Unfortunately, everything here grows like crazy, so I spend a lot of time doing yard work. Luckily for us we usually have a couple of downpours in the late afternoon, and that cools things down for a bit. My Son lives in Kansas, and they have had days in the 100’s. Just hoping we get thru hurricane season without any damage!

Was working in the yard after work this week strained pulling a weed and farted. Wasn't sure if I sharted myself or just blew the sweat out of my a$$!

I don't handle that kind of heat very well lol. 54⁰ right now, supposed to have a high of 81⁰ today
....63 at the house and same 81* forcast today as well. We have a couple of upper 90s to 100 forecast next week but we usually get a thunder buster with these temps and it never happens for very long....

I feel for folks that have to deal with the endless 100+ temp days...... being above 4400 ft elevation does make a difference.....but we still have patches of visible snow on the shady side of the hills....I suspect the 90's will finally kill it!

Same here, we had a little snow fall in the high country a couple weeks ago. We sit at 7100 feet, the snow stuck up at close to 10,000 feet. One of the town North of me is Leadville, and we always joke that the 4th of July is their only day of summer lol

We’ve been in a wave of early monsoon rain the last couple weeks with flash flood watches. Lows in the 50’s highs in the 70-80’s but looks like may break and the next week is forecast in the mid 80’s and sunny but that could change in 15 minutes around here.

YUCK!!!
That humidity and heat would kill me.
It's 2:00 PM and we are already at 102*, it's gonna be a scorcher later this afternoon, and evening. Luckily we rarely have high humidity here, today is about average which is 15-20%, last night it was 29% and the air was smokey due to wildfires, it's gonna be a LONG summer at this rate.
We just got our power bill for gas and electric today for last month it was $340, and it wasn't very hot last month. Next months bill will most likely be over $500+

Working around asbestos my whole career in the building trades, in the S.F. highrise buildings, refineries, military bases, shipyards, and Federal buildings has taken a toll on my lungs, and this smoke, and heat are kicking my butt.

I feel for you guys, that have to deal with high humidity, and no coastal breezes to cool you off at night. One thing that is normally great about our heat waves, is they normally only last 2-4 days in a row. And the fog bank pushes in off the CA coast, which cools us off at night. I live on the banks of the CA Delta, the fog follows the delta inland, which is our natural AC, not this week though, unfortunitly it's going to be dry, hot , and smokey for the next 7-10 days. YUCK!!!

I was born and raised at the at the base of this Mountain.

My playgrounds were the mountain and the thousands of miles of the CA delta, the ocean, and coastal beaches.

That was when CA was a great place to live, not so much anymore.

I still love the verity of scenery, ocean, beaches, desert/ dunes, the delta/ rivers, mountains, and lush Napa valley, too Yosemite and the Tahoe /Sierra National forests, to the NorCal Giant Redwood forests. We have it all, it's too bad that the political scene is so toxic out here. I can't wait to get out of here when my wife retires. I will truly miss the way Cali was when I was growing up, but surely will not miss one this about what this once great State has turned into.

Try to stay cool, fella's.

Dan.

I guess growing up around it all my 60+ years of life, I've gotten used to it. Still can be rough to work in. Had to change the brakes on my boat trailer yesterday, 4 wheel disc, which turned into a 4 hour ordeal. Mostly in the shade to start, but still drenched in sweat by the time I was finished in the bright sunshine. Then had to cut the grass. After that, I was done. Drank a big glass of ice water, took a shower, and kicked back for the rest of the afternoon...

I hear ya there. Colorado used to be a good place too. Everyone found out our best kept secrets, and now we are a square version of California. I really hate it here some days.
I hate it here, more days than not, it's gotten pretty bad, even away from the big cities.

It was so bad a few yrs ago, now that our Governor is a major shareholder in PG&E, Pacific gas & electric, our rated have almost doubled. It's criminal what they get away with, out here. It wasn't so bad when I was working, but my wife doesn't make nearly as much as I did. I'd go back to work if I could, my back just can't handle it any longer. We're doing okay, just don't have the expendable money like we use to.

I can hardly wait to see what the hot tub we just bought does to our bill.
The salesman said it's about $45 a month if you keep it heated to 102*and covered, so I'm expecting double what he said, they are worse than car salesmen.:emoji_confounded::emoji_stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
