Just joined the forum a couple of weeks ago, I have read posts on occasion for a couple of years now. I have an OK Joe's Highlander and have not been disappointed. Was wondering if anyone has ever used the charcoal grates under the cooking grates for smoking meat. Looks like it would be a good place to put a loin or two.

Welcome from Ohio. I’m not familiar with your smoker but someone will come along that is.

Just a little west of you!
Not familiar with your smoker, but why not just use the cooking grates?
