I have a nice 50 gallon drum that was used to hold glue in a plastic bag no contact with the drum. how would that work as a smoker? they do look SMOKIN.
DanJ, Is it bare steel inside or does it have a liner, that makes all the difference in the world. You will need to remove the liner if it has one and that can be a pain.
You have some good picture and that white stuff in what again?? I like the bird that got all cut up. Do they smoke faster and if so how much faster. I think it could be a quicksmoke for the work week??
That bird was around 5 lbs (prior to spatchcocking) and smoked for about two hours, with the fatties. It was about 24*F outside. I took the breast bone, ribs and just about all bones out except for the dark meat bones. The spouse unit will use the "parts" to make chicken stock/soup.
Spatchcocking allows the bird to cook more evenly and taking out the framework made cutting the breast, a breeze.
