Ok, fellows, I had a friend from Texas, that went home for TG-Day & promised to bring me back some Texas BBQ.
I always thought I made some pretty darn good brisket, but the brisket he brought back certainly was a humbling experience.
He had a bag of it & it looked like mostly slices of the flat, but it was refrigerated & Judy & I just took one bite & both looked at each other like WOW.
I immediately made 2 brisket sandwiches & added just a little BBQ sauce & we absolutely devoured them. I can't imagine how good this would have been sliced hot right in front of you.
I NOW HAVE A NEW GOAL TO SHOOT FOR. Oh and by the way this didn't look like a prime or even a choice brisket, there was hardly any marbling in it, but it was soooo tender & juicy. With just the right amount of smoke flavor! I would have taken some photo's, but it looked like nothing special, that is until you eat it!!!
I think the number 1 thing on my bucket list has now become to take a few weeks & go from BBQ spot to BBQ spot all across the south.
Anyhow when you Texas guys (GaryS) brag about your brisket, I now know what your talking about!!!
Happy TG-Day to all!!!
