I've never been a great fan of hot dogs. I know they rank right up there with burgers, apple pie and ice cream. Yesterday the grandkids wanted bacon rapped dogs. My number 3 son does them all the time on his gas grill, so he walked me through it, teaching this old dog a new trick. Warmed up the PB 820 while enjoying a cold one. I should have stopped with one cause the dogs ran a little long at 350*. Being slightly over done they tasted great. Another quick, easy and satisfying item to add to my list.

I'll bet the grandkids had no complaints. They know what they like, and are probably happier with that than some sophisticated meal they didn't ask for. Good on you !

Martin they look great! You said you are not a Hot Dog Fan but how many Brands have you tried? There are many brands and styles. Some Cheapo brands like BarS, $1.99, in my area, Suck! The DOGS gave a dirty look when I tried to give them some. But, spend the extra money, $4.99, for SAHLEN'S Natural Casing Hot Dogs, and the three Boys will Steal the Hot Dogs off your plate if you don't keep an eye on them!
I don't care for most name brand commercial dogs like Oscar Mayer or Hebrew National, but there are some large area processors that make OK, mid priced, Skinless Hot Dogs. In PA, Berk's and Kunzler's are pretty good. My kids like the Berk's or Ball Park.
You may want to look around. Try different Brands and if you have Mom & Pop Butcher's in your area, check them for Shop Made Hot Dogs, usually natural casing. Some I have had were Outstanding.

Geez, Can you tell I'm a Huge Fan of great Hot Dogs!?!...JJ

Not to derail this thread too far but a there's a couple Brands of sausage I'd recommend.
Dietz & Watson and Zweigles. Both have a "where to buy" link on there web sites.

Those dogs look really good, We like to do them every so often - changes up things. You can really wow them by taking it to the next level and stuffing them with smoked cheese. Here's a shot of some I did last year.

Point for sure

Thanks. Everything is better w/ cheese and bacon. But I'm still a little foggy on rapping. Is that a left rap or a right rap?:emoji_laughing:

Just like taping a hockey stick. Top to bottom right side wrap.:emoji_blush:

Two other brands I may suggest - Hofmann's and Glazier's brands! Natural casings, and instead of wrapping in bacon, soak them in Pop's Curing Brine overnight! Then fry, broil, etc!
