I have not taken any oral NSAID in over 10 years. Just didn't want the organ abuse associated with regular use (abuse?).
Switched to supplements and been very happy with the results.
Recovery from a Baker Cyst rupture close to 2 months ago has been painfully slow. Considering the topical diclofenac to reduce the inflammation. Not holding high hopes as topical rarely work for me.

i got a taste of the diclofenac cream last night. wow did i sleep good!! it took the pain away fast too. after reading some i think ill try the boron too. id rather go that route if works.

You’d sure think so… but at this point I have zero trust in Doctors. Seems years ago most got into the field to help people… anymore just feel as I am number and as said above… the bill beats you home. Money, money, money is what most care about. Not very trusting these days of much… be it medical or other…
This! I went to a Dr. several years ago and they diagnosed me with RA even though my tests didn't conclude this. They said, I was one of few "non-diagnosed RA patients". When I questioned it, she insisted I had RA without a doubt. 6 years later after taking horrible medicine every day with terrible side effects, I decided to stop just to see what would happen. Guess what, I feel fine so I assume it was just diet and/or exercise!

Well dang! Added to my stack...

After only 1 week of boron supplementation of 6 mg/d, a further study by Naghii et al20 of healthy males (n = 8) found (1) a significant increase in free testosterone, which rose from an average of 11.83 pg/mL to 15.18 pg/mL; and (2) significant decreases in E2, which dropped from 42.33 pg/mL to 25.81 pg/mL. All of the inflammatory biomarkers that were measured also decreased: (1) interleukin (IL) 6, from 1.55 pg/mL to 0.87 pg/mL; (2) high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP) by approximately 50%, a remarkable decrease, from 1460 ng/mL to 795 ng/mL; and (3) tumor necrosis factor α (TNF-α) by approximately 30%, from 12.32 to 9.97 pg/mL. Levels of dihydrotestosterone, cortisol, and vitamin D increased slightly.

The significant decrease in the men’s plasma E2 after 1 week of boron supplementation suggests a higher rate of conversion of total testosterone (T) to free testosterone (FT) in the testosterone metabolic pathway. In support, the ratios of FT/T, T/E2, and FT/E2 were all significantly increased, indicating boron had androgen amplifier effects: (1) FT/T (pg/mL/ng/mL) increased from 3.62 to 4.66; (2) T/E2 (ng/mL) rose from 91.68 to 148; and (3) FT/E2 (ng/mL) from 0.31 to 0.67.

It is well known that approximately 98% of testosterone molecules are bound to proteins in the blood, principally to sex hormone–binding globulin (SHBG), and are not bioavailable because bound hormones cannot exit capillaries.22 Thus, the elevation of unbound free testosterone seen with boron supplementation may have significant beneficial ramifications, particularly in aging men in whom, typically, levels of SHBG increase and levels of FT decrease.23

My case might be different, because I got shot a few times but I have really bad arthritis from the Marine corps and the resulting surgeries(scheduling net one next Tuesday!) but the gel doesn't work for me. Tried it a lot, tried the vitamin routine and it just didn't do anything for me. Tried boron and herbal stuff.... Nothing. Everything with alcohol made it worse. Haven't had a drink in years, not because I'm an alcoholic.

One day I met a WW2 marine after one of my shoulder surgeries and he told me about this stuff called rick james oil. It's basically a tincture of cannabis with the alcohol evaporated, in coconut oil. I swear by it and ibuprofen. It doesn't cure all my woes but it allows me to walk without a limp which I am grateful for. It does contain the CBD and THC so check the laws in your state.

My son is in his last year of high school, he's my youngest. And I'm planning to move to the extreme Western end of Oklahoma, maybe the panhandle because of the super low humidity. The humidity is really what hurts me and here in Springfield Missouri we average over 90% in the summer. Western Oklahoma, New Mexico, and Arizona are less than 30% on average. I vacation in those areas and wow! It's amazing the difference in my life. Personally right now I'm pretty well decided on Western Oklahoma because the cost of living is way cheaper than New Mexico or Arizona and Oklahoma is the only conservative area in those three and has the most lenient gun laws. And being a Marine corps marksmanship instructor I've got to have my guns, and my BBQ. The nice thing about Western Oklahoma is also quick access to major cities in Texas, New Mexico, and the Pueblo Colorado area, not to mention Oklahoma City. Good luck, been battling Arthur for well over 10 years now and the fight goes on.
