Has anyone ever tried this? Those who have know what it is...

For those who don't, you buy an 12 or 20oz bottle of Coke and a sleeve of salted peanuts, take a gulp from the Coke to make room, use your hand as a funnel and pour the entire sleeve of peanuts in there.

When you take a sip, you get some salty peanuts and the sweetness of some Coke. I don't do it often, but it's a nice treat to have while working. I personally love it.

The reason I ask is, I had it at work today and my coworkers thought I was out of my mind and were pretty disgusted.

I first heard of it a few years ago on some Discovery channel show. I believe it had something to do with oil rigs and drilling.

So, who's had this?

I still do that, although I recently discovered something when I was alone in the house (I tend to be the host of my own cooking show when nobody's around)

Try putting a dallop of butter in a pan, then put in the peanuts, then finally, a tablespoon (or two) of coke. Sounds weird, but it's far from weird, it's delicious!

I use to like that when I was a kid, long time ago.    Coke's were a nickle and gas was $ 0.22 a gal

Coke or Dr. Pepper and peanuts, it didn't matter.  And that was when I could afford the soda and peanuts at the same time.

When I was growing up, we usually only went to town once a week. occasionally we would get a lil something as a treat. Since there was 6 of us kids, it wasn't much but I would get a good ol Barqs root beer and peanuts. I got a hankering for it about a year ago, but it just doesn't taste right in plastic bottles.

I just thought this was a southern thing ...been putting peanuts in a coke since I was a kid ..still do , wife is from Michigan and now when she goes to the store she will ask me if I want a "coconut "   ....lol

I worked with a guy that called that lunch.  If we didn't have time to stop and eat, he would drop a sleeve of peanuts into a coke.  I chose beef jerky and a V-8, we both thought each other was strange!

for those of you that have never tried this , the salt flattens the coke just enough to give it a different taste , I only like it with coke not any other brand of cola  or any other flavor of pop only coca cola will do for me
