It is officially done!

Put the tadpole gasket on the CC door.

Finished up a few odd and ends like adding a handle on the FB door and tapering the CC door latch pins to make them slide home easier.

Ready to fire it up, season it, cook on it, then sandblast and paint it.

Might be a few days before I get her lit off. Got some family stuff to do that takes precedence.

I'm glad smokejumper is using his talents for good instead of evil. What's you first cook?
Can't wait to see

This is an awesome machine! Nice work! Are you going to paint it? Looking forward to seeing some Q!!!!
Thanks TNHollerBach

Yes, it will be painted, but want to get a few cooks on it first to make sure no modifications are needed.

Finally got it fired up for the first cook.

Wire brushed the surface rust off the cooking grates, then sprayed the inside of the CC with PAM to season it.

Started with a full chimney of lump and one split of red oak. No issues with the chimney, it started drafting immediately.

Temps are pretty even.

Awe inspiring build, SJ!

You guys with the metal fabrication skills do some truly amazing things. The design and execution are remarkable. May you enjoy thousands of smoke with this beauty!

Does she have a name yet?

Thanks Len, Dave and Gary.

Still have a few more cooks to do to learn the sweet spots, but I am very pleased with it.
Does she have a name yet?
Thanks rabbithutch.

I don't name my stuff, so it is just referred to as "the smoker", but suggestions are welcome.

WOW!!

Words are not adequate to compliment your excellent skill. That smoker of yours is exquisite. The ribs you made also look tasty.

Supremely JEALOUS!!

Thanks OquirrhMtnSmokr.

Sorry I couldn't thank you earlier, I just got back from my yearly deer hunt (successful) in Colorado.

Not painted yet, getting a few more cooks on it before I paint.
Still have not settled on a color.
Leaning towards basic black at this point.
