South Louisiana-Yes, it is HOT
Quick meal tonight. Outside enjoying the cool down. Afternoon temp. was down in the upper 70's and dry with the passing front. I decided on grilled pork tenderloin...it is a cheap often overlooked cut for the grill. But done right, it is ready for the plate in less than 20 minutes. Got the BGE up to temp. ~375ish with a few chunks of wild cherry, then put the peppers on with a little olive oil and Cavander's Greek seasoning. 4-5 minutes later, put the tenderloins on. Easy cook...flip every 3 and a half minutes. total of 4-5 flips. Keep checking with Instant read probe until INT is at 140*F then pull them off. Usually done in 16-20 minutes depending on size. Peppers take 25 minutes so done at the same time...

Served with a little left over Cajun yellow rice with green onion and diced tomato. The sauce on the rice is made from the runny egg yolk and bacon grease... Like I said-quick dinner...less than 40 minutes from the time I lit the coals.

That is a nice shot of a great looking cook Keith, love the pork.

I was going to mention the rice when I saw it on the plate.... and then I read " from the runny egg yolk and bacon grease. " What is to not love there .

Nice meal.

David

Looks great Keith . I agree , over looked , great cut of pork .

Looks great! I do these very frequently. I get th four packs at Sam's and do four to eight at a time. I've been doing them in the Smokefire at 200F the whole time pulling at 138F with a test to 145. Love them.

Thank you David! For the yellow rice, I used a high protein rice and it sat in the fridge over night to become a resistant starch. GI of about 35. I have been at my target weight for over a year...I eat some carbs sparingly nowadays. Nothing too crazy though because I love how I feel without eating them.

Thank you Rich! Fast cook and tender...that is what I like about them. Also cheap.

Thanks jcam! How long are you cooking them at 200*F?

I'll have to pay better attention to that next time. I think about an hour and twenty minutes. Smoke flavor is awesome on them

Looking good and thanks for the inspiration. Just this morning I took a drive to the meat market, was picking up somethings. I saw some tenderloins, thought of this thread, in the cart they went. Going to grill or smoke tomorrow. Never grilled them before, always smoked them, I am leaning towards the grill, thanks!
