Maybe I'm weird, but I have a selection of movies that I can (and do) watch many times without getting tired of them. Drives my wife a little nuts, as she really likes movies and always wants to find new ones to watch. I guess that's a good thing as if she didn't make me watch new ones, I likely would have never seen anything made later than 1990.
Anyway, here, in no particular order, is part of my list:

The Big Chill.
Ferris Bueller's Day Off
The Breakfast Club
The Great Outdoors
Wind
Cap'n Ron
Houseboat
Stranger than Paradise
Mystic Pizza
Beautiful Girls

I was gonna leave the last two off so as to not "out" myself as a chick flick fan, but I'm not ashamed.
What are your old stand by movies?

some of my favorites, kelly's hero's,saving private ryan,hang em high,christmas vacation,animal house.

I'm a lot like you, boatbum...there are some movies I never get tired of watching over and over.

In no particular order, here are some that annoy my Mrs. Red because I watch them EVERY time they're on TV...plus I've got most of these on DVD:

McLintock
True Grit
The Quiet Man (I guess you can tell...Yes, I'm a big fan of The Duke)
Jeremiah Johnson
The Natural
Caddyshack
Animal House
The Shawshank Redemption
The Outlaw Josey Wales
Fletch

off the top of my head

  • Evolution
  • Kelly's Heroes
  • Guns of Navarone
  • Dirty Dozen
  • Up the creek without a paddle

Ground hog day and platoon.
Watching "Groundhog Day" over and over is...well... just too ironic for words!!! Great movie and it's another one I absolutely love.
I'd forgotten about Kelley's Heroes. That is without a doubt Donald Sutherland's best role ever.

I'm a movie fan as well and tend to want to find new ones but the ones I tend to turn on (may or may not watch from start to finish) are the Bourne movies, the Ocean's movies, and Shawshank. It's funny because if you asked me to name my 5 or 10 favorite movies, I'm not sure any of these make the list.

I usually don't go out of my way to watch them even though I own some of these but if I am bored and they are on I will usually watch a number of movies.

The Breakfast Club
Tombstone
Unforgiven
Star Wars
Empire Stikes Back
Ferris Buellers Day Off
Better Off Dead
Pale Rider
Star Trek II The Wrath of Khan
Convoy
Field of Dreams
Patton
Die Hard
Caddyshack
The Great Outdoors
A Midnight Clear
The Dirty Dozen

I am sure there are more but that gives you a general idea.
