Merry Christmas me months later lol. I ordered this in early December and knew up front shipping would take quite awhile. I have a nice collection of misc. knives I use when cooking. I have them often just stored in their original boxes. I found this custom leather crafter from Romania on Etsy. He makes beautiful leather knife rolls. As promised shipping took forever haha, just came today. Love it. Now I need to get some edge guards. Had to have it inscribed with the nickname that seems to stick with me lol.

That looks well made and I like the design and features including the cover flaps. I've seen some pretty cool blade guards, some clear and some magnetic that open like a book so I'm sure you can find some nice ones online. That said I sharpen knives as a hobby and this roll belongs to a Chef that graduated from the CIA in the mid 70's. It was standard issue to students. It's nothing fancy, but has been in use for 45 years with just ordinary care. I was shocked that the elastic band still works.

Nice and long too holding your brisket knife. That was my one over sight. At the time I ordered I didn’t own my 14” Mercer Granton edge slicer. Brother got it for me for Christmas. I’m probably doing to order another of these but longer. I think I’m going to buy a couple for gifts or fundraisers later in the year too.
