    My name is Greg and I am from northeast Wisconsin. I just purchased a Cabelas Masterbuilt 40 inch electric smoker. I have never done this before and look forward to having all of the experts on this site to show me the ropes! We have already tried baby backs on it using the recipe that came with the unit. They were awesome. I didn't know they could be that good!

    Welcome from SC, Greg. It's good to have you here on this great site. There are a lot of really fine folks here who are always ready to share their ideas, recipes and tips. All you have to do is ask and keep on reading.

    MES are a lot of fun! Be sure if you're doing chicken with skin on (wings/thighs/etc) that you crank up heat to 275 and have a grill ready to crisp skin. Also look into AMNPS for good smoke control.
