First time posting in the forum, came looking for help. I've had a Masterbuilt electric smoker 30" signature series for about 5 years. The bottom of the door has rusted completely off. I've tried referencing model number (Model MB25071217) but Masterbuilt doesn't specifically list this model as having a direct replacement. I even contacted their customer support, but apparently they're looking at the same information that I can find. Do any of you know if the 30" door replacement will fit this model even though it isn't specifically listed?

Thanks in advance.

MB supports their newer products pretty well but not so much the >10yo stuff. I'd take your old door into a Lowes or HomeDepot that carries the newer 30" model and just compare them. Any differences you can assess if, based on your skills and tools, you can adapt the new to the old.

Another option if you always cook at <250F (and the truly bottom of the door is probably 50F cooler than that) is to repair the damaged door. You really just need to make it air-tight. A few bad rust spots can be sealed with JB Weld, a bigger hole may need some aluminum window screen and Bondo. (My car repair experience tells me JB Weld takes high temps much better than Bondo. Do a couple test runs after it cures. If it no longer smells (and hasn't embrittled and fallen off) it's probably not going to affect any food you cook with it.

Or you can cut a patch from a piece of steel or roofing flashing and sheet-metal-screw it over the rust area if the idea of epoxy or plastic getting hot around your food is a non-starter.

Or if you can afford it, just buy a new one. Nothing lasts forever.

When I see anything more than surface rust on my cookers, I brush on some cheap vegetable oil. Seems to arrest the rust process quite a bit.

MES like those are all over Facebook marketplace cheap.
