My name is Chris and I have a smoking problem.

I have always wanted to learn how to smoke and BBQ properly so I joined this forum to pick your brains and hopefully show off some of my future skills.

I recently aquired a used but in good shape BBQ Grillware vertical propane smoker and purchased a Taylor digital thermometer. I plan on purchasing the Maverick ET-73 thanks to this site.

First beer is on me!

Welcome To Your New Addiction

Hi Chris,

We all have the same "problem"

You have the tools ( propane smoker, Taylor Thermo and soon an ET-73 - Exactly what I use to smoke

) to turn out some great "Q".

Start off with something tasty and fairly easy......chicken or turkey (whole would be nice!) or a pork butt or 2.

Also.......very important.........Tell the wife/girlfriend that you must watch the smoking process carefully and consume many cold adult beverages during the process in order to achieve success

Welcome aboard, Chris! Obviously you have already discovered the wealth of info shared here by all the great members who hang out here.

I must warn you of thing: the next time you make a statement here regarding having a smoking problem, it will likely be in the context of not being able to smoke often enough...it happens to almost everyone...when you hit that stage, just smoke WAY more than you can eat so you can stock up the freezer for those days when you can't smoke.

Good luck on your growing addiction to smoke!

Eric
