Hi all,

Awesome forum. I've smoked ribs a few times in my Weber Kettle. Was gonna give this another go and was researching online and found this forum. I have always just winged it and it turns out OK. I know with the information here I can do even better.


I'll be reading and learning.

Plan on keeping it simple with my weber kettles I already own. Gonna do some ribs this weekend using techniques I've researched here.

Any tips and tricks about kettle smoking let me know!
 
Welcome to the forum glad to have you join up. Lots of great information here. @gmc2003 is a big kettle guy and can probably offer a lot of advice and answer any questions you may have
 
Welcome to SMF from Minnesota. I do my ribs on my Weber 22" and cook them at 250 for two hours open, two hours wrapped and 30 minutes open and sauced. They come out pretty good.
 
Welcome from Middle TN. Check out the "snake method" for stacking your charcoal if you want low and slow.

Welcome from East Central PA - Hey I don't know if you have these or not but I have found them to be the most beneficial addition to my Weber Kettle for smoking. They're called Weber 7403 Char-Basket Charcoal Briquet Holders. I tried to post a link but had some issues sorry to say.

They really help to regulate heat and definitely ease adding wood / charcoal during the cooking process (you really need the grate with the fold up access sections on the ends). Good luck with the ribs!
