Hi everyone. I'm new to the forum but I've had a Green Mountain pellet grill for 20 years or so. I should say I've had 2. I bought one of the original Daniel Boones right after they came out. About 6 years ago I decided I wanted something bigger and I was happy with Green Mountain so I bought a Jim Bowie Prime Plus. I know, I know, some don't consider that actually smoking meat, but I like the set it and walk away aspect and it kicks out very good food.

All that being said, I do have an itch for a stick burner and learning how to tend a fire. So, I've started perusing marketplace in hopes of finding an Oklahoma Joe's or something like that for a low enough price I'll be able to tinker with it and learn.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to reading a lot and learning a lot here.

@loknload its cool man. Plenty of us love our pellet grills. Nothing to be ashamed of I've thought about a stick burner but man with a little dude i don't have time for that. Maybe when he goes away to college. 🤣 (he's only 6 so)

Welcome from Iowa! Nothing wrong with a pellet grill... I love my GMG!

Thanks guys. I love my pellet grill and the ease of use so I don't have any heartburn over it at all. I do want to find an offset to play with that doesn't break the bank so if I do decide I don't want to spend hours babysitting the fire, I'm not out a whole bunch.

Here is a brisket I did a couple weeks ago on my GMG.

Welcome to the party.
You'll fit in well here and probably teach us a thing or two along the way.
