Hi everyone,as title says I'm from Michigan. I'm currently cooking on a kettle style grill, my work was throwing it away 2 weeks ago and I snagged it. I have done 2 racks of ribs a couple pork chops a pork tenderloin and a pork shoulder, not bad for two weeks. I now have the bug and looking to purchase a dedicated smoker. Have read some great information here and thought I would join. I'm open to suggestions on smokers if you have any I'm trying to stay under $500. I'm currently looking and 22.5 wsm the dyna glo offset wide body, a smokey hollow offset and river grille model. Don't think I would get the enjoyment from an electric, propane or pellet cooker but could be persuaded. Thanks for reading see yall on the boards

Welcome to SMF!

I vote for the 22.5 WSM.

I've had one for years & they are easy to use, well built, & hold temps very well.

Also they run great right out of the box, no mods needed.

Al

Thanks for your input AL, I've been leaning towards the WSM just because of the simplicity and quality
