I had a lost love who hailed from Kent. She was in America for just a year as young lady. Probably best for the both of us that her visa ran out! Her parents DID visit and enjoyed our drive through the Blue Ridge Mountains, although her dad had a hard time adjusting to the "camber" of the roads driving on the right side!
Never spent time in England except a week in adjacent Ireland for business where the weather thwarted my need to be at sea for days, so all I had to do was drink Guinness (which I DO like) and eat dry sandwiches in Cork for days. That was decades ago, I sure hope they've learned how to make a sandwich since...and put seating in the pubs!
