I will admit that I'd not have had a clue on the pronunciation aside from my wife, but it's pretty much said like it's spelled ..... wally with a zzz in front.

When I moved to the Pacific Northwest, I had to learn a lot of odd words.
First thing I got corrected on is its Or-gun, not Or-e-gone

Leave out the e for Squim
Both indigenous native (aboriginal in Canadian speak) names.
Minnesota has a lot of indigenous names for places but vast different tribes and tongues.
Same as Germanic differs from Spanish from Russian
