50 Pounds of Butts for a Halloween / End of year celebration at Work Oct 31 for 100 People.

    I have 7, 7.1 to 7.4 pound butts to cook for a Halloween / End of year celebration for 100 people. I found out that the most I can cook in my CGPwSFB is 5 butts at a time because of the two temp gages I added to the front of the smoker. So my plan is to cook two runs 4 butts in the first run then do the last three.

    Rubed down and ready to go.

    Friday 11:30pm into the GPwSFB Smoker temp 235.

  2. That is a nice looking bunch of butts you have there. Hard for me to find them that big around here.

    Mostly what I get are between 3-1/2 to 4-1/2 lbs.

    Guess I need to take the road trip to Sams.

    Good luck with them... they are lookin good so far.

    First run is done and in the coolers at 9:26, all 4 can off within 1 hour..

    2nd load in the smoker at 9:40

    The smoker mods are working great less than 5 degree side to side,

    and the outside of the cooking chamber is barely warm, It's amazing how well ten layer of HD aluminum fitted to the top inside of the chamber will insulate..

    Stop at the meat department and talk to the butcher, that is what I used to get all the time 3-4#ers than I ask him one day if I could get whole butts the way he gets them in, now I get anywhere from 7 to 9 #ers they may trim them up a bit, sometimes they just give me the cryoed ones.

    Tom C there is going to be a lot of happy people on halloween, you giving PP sammies out for treats, if so I may have to look you up.

    Last Butt came off at 9 and in the cooler, 21.5 hours to cook 50 pounds
