Been craving meatloaf. So that's what I made for dinner. Actually I really wanted leftover meatloaf for cold meatloaf sandwees. One of my favorites.
Here's what went into this one
2 lbs ground turkey.
1 small onion chopped & sauteed
1 orange bell pepper diced & sauteed
4 cloves of garlic...
For National Cheeseburger day I cooked us up some turkey burgers on the little Smokey Joe. Didn't get any cook shots because it was dumping rain. Its been a wet week here.
Took 1 pound of ground turkey and made two 1/2 pound burger patties. I added ground garlic, onion, salt and pepper into the...
I like a little sweetness on my turkeys, and found myself with the urge to do a little kitchen creativity. Lo and behold: The Apple Pie Smoked Turkey.
It all starts with the brine:
1 1/2 gallons of water
1/2 gallon of apple juice
1 1/2 cups kosher salt
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 16 oz. jar apple pie...
It's hard to know where to put this post, but I settled on here because the initial inspiration to make this sammich was needing to use some of my Meal Prep Turkey that's been in the freezer.
It just so happened that I also had some smoked pastrami in the freezer and some pulled pork in the...
This is a follow up to my Meal Prep Turkey thread that I posted a while back. I'm trying to post the different ways I used the meat I put up to give others ideas on how they can use leftovers.
Who doesn't love taters? and who doesn't love smoked turkey? Well then, it stands to reason that...
My kids are home with the flu, so I'm trying to make the most of being stuck here by getting some meal prep done. I had a 14 pound turkey in the freezer from Thanksgiving. Albertson's had specials at that time so I got four turkeys for $.24/lb. The plan is to to smoke it and pull it for future...
I'm planning to smoke a turkey this week for pulling and using for meals throughout the week.
I love my MES 30, but it just doesn't get hot enough to make good skin. I'm considering skinning it before smoking so that the rub can be on the meat instead of on the skin that'll just get tossed to...

I love smoking on Thanksgiving... not because I love turkey more than other proteins, but because there is so much sport to the cook. The preparation, build-up, research and anticipation over this centerpiece of an event with family and friends is special. Love it! I'm thankful my family and...
Hello this is my first post on the forums and was wondering if anyone can help me figure out what I’m doing wrong with my smoked turkey. I was following Malcom Reids older turkey recipe the only modification is the injection I use. I’m smoking on a bge large no water pan 300 degrees according to...
Hey everyone!
I'm smoking a Turkey tomorrow for Thanksgiving, got some questions for you all.
I'm smoking mine tomorrow on my traeger with the spatchcock citrus herb brine recipe on their website. They have me putting a garlic herb butter under the skin , but nothing on top. If I don't put...
I decided I needed "proof of concept" with the smoke tube & Traeger combo. Picked up a 12lb "nothing special" bird a while back. It's been thawed for at least a few days, so, Sunday was the day.
Spatchcock, I didn't brine this one simply to keep things easy.
Spice prep was Garlic Lover's...
Newbie here...
I have a 22# Turkey that I will wet brine for about 20 hours. I will smoke/grill it on a Pit Boss 700Fb. From what I have read, turkey can smoke anywhere from 15-30 minutes per pound. That is a huge window when trying to time everything for Thanksgiving.
Anybody have any advice...
Hey All,
Long time reader, first time posting. Sorry for posting a new thread if a similar question existed already, but I couldn't find one.
For this years Thanksgiving I am going to attempt a 22 pound whole turkey and a 10 pound boneless prime rib. I have a WSM18. I have done each of these...
Hi all -
New to the forums - looks like a great resource! I recently got a Masterbuilt 30" electric smoker (replacing a previous one I had that was not taken care of properly), and I'm familiar with smoking at a basic level. I've done ribs, chicken, and Turkey before, but not a 16 lbs one. I...
