Finally got time to stop buy a local Asian market,so it's Char Sui time!
I just went with a powder mix as I've seen it work well for another around these parts. I decided on chicken wings and some baby back ribs. The plan is to smoke over cherry or maple maybe both then finish on the gasser.

This is going to be lunch for Sunday, you may need more then popcorn!

Hoping I don't let anyone down! Okay already did SWMBO wanted it for dinner but the wings sure look like overnight in the marinade will be better!

Char Sui is really catching on around here.

Looking forward to seeing yours!

It certainly seems that way! I've wanted to do wings for about a year just never had the stuff really hope they turn out tasty!

This after noon is the plan! I'm supposed to hook up a tv for a friend then it's home to start the WSM!!Thumbs Up

Surprised the marinade wouldn't get in the chickens skin any better but there not pepto wings!

About an hour in! Opened two cents fully to start bringing the temp up kept it low about 180* for the first hour for extra time in the smoke.

Thanks BD! ive had these before at a buffet and didn't notice the five spice flavor or much flavor at all I guess, maybe Char Sui just isn't for me!

They sure look tasty from here!

I don't remember ever eating anything made with 5-spice. I'll have to look into it.

I agree they look good, just not one of my faves.

They look really good.  The ribs, that is.  I'm not much on wings.  What kind of dry mix did you use for the marinade?  I want to try Char Siu, but don't want to buy all the ingredients just in case its a one time thing.
