There's a saying with mushroom hunters. There's old mushroom hunters and there's bold mushroom hunters, but there's no old, bold mushroom hunters!!!!! If your not sure don't eat it.
They look like oyster mushrooms (Pleurotus ostreatus) to me. And yes, oyster mushrooms are edible and very tasty. If you are going to eat them just remember to soak them in salted water to remove any bugs. I'm not an 'expert' but I have had training in wild mushroom hunting and I used to do it for local restaurants. Of course I can't be 100% certain without looking at them in person.
Thanks for the comment guys...Don`t worry I am not bold when it comes to mushrooms. I just thought that they were so pretty growing on that old dead tree and they look so healthy...I like them but down here in the South we have stuff that will get you when you are not looking...
