Any particular make/model you recommend?Try to get one with a temp range that will go low enough to serve to hold resting briskets.
No, my advice is based on info garnered from others who do have and use their roasters to hold briskets and butts as needed.Any particular make/model you recommend?
Cool. I will primarily use whatever make/model i get for roasting turkey in my garages recreational area and bar.No, my advice is based on info garnered from others who do have and use their roasters to hold briskets and butts as needed.
Awesome! Thanks! In laws are GUNG HO roaster oven folk. MIL had a bunch and used hers for TG bird AND serving it. She would cook and then turn it down to warming, break bird down and put back in. She roasted with some butter and chicken stock so there's a nice jus for the meat to soak up. It's a real treat if you've come from a family than cooks dry birds like I did. Dangerous business too as the bird stays warm so you can get 3rds or 4ths LOL.

Thanks for the heads up! Doing the initial "burn in" tomorrow... looks like it will hold a 22 pound turkey as advertised.Excellent
Forgot to mention, the underside of these things get very hot. It needs to go on a heat resistant surface.
My mom put hers on top of the dryer (ran out of counter space) and it got hot enough to discolor the porcelain after several years.
You are welcome or as the younger people reply, absolutely. Happy I remembered to give you a heads up.Thanks for the heads up! Doing the initial "burn in" tomorrow... looks like it will hold a 22 pound turkey as advertised.
Ordered some aluminum liners, because I hate cleaning!
Also going to drill a small hole in the lid for a temperature probe.
I read up on the plastic liners and decided on the Aluminum. You are welcome or as the younger people reply, absolutely. Happy I remembered to give you a heads up.
Slow cookers also get very warm on the bottom. Chuckle every time I see a plastic table with 3 dimples.
They also make plastic liners, but they are only good for reheating items such as PP, soups, stews, etc.
I just run the probe braid between the lid and steel liner. My lid is also porcelain coated and didn't want to chip it.
