Waiting on my MES 30 to get here in Japan, but it's going to be a long 3 weeks before it arrives to me. UPS always kills the deal with shipping ($300.00) so I decided to have it delivered parcel post. Sucks with the holidays rolling in. At least I can read up on good recipes to try and hopefully avoid the NEWB mistakes.

Almost went with the Bradley, but luckily GOOGLE pointed me in the direction of this forum. Some good points made on both smokers and in the end I went with Masterbuilt.

All points taken. Thanks for the welcome and advice Craig. I'll definitely look into the ecourse and other links provided. I was just browsing in the ecourse section.

I just got mes 30 earlier this week, and after smoking my first chickens, I LOVE IT, it is soooo easy to use, and I love the built in meat thermometer.  You will definately like it.  ENJOY and good luck.  I also agree that this is the best website to get all your questions answered.
