Alright I just finished up dinner. I absolutely loved the drumsticks off the vortex. I made up some burgers along with a bunch of plump drumsticks. I marinated the chicken overnight in Italian dressing. That has always worked out well in the past. For the seasoning I used Grill Mates whiskey chicken rub. Took about 50 minutes or so to finish. The chicken was a bit less crispy than I thought it would be. Most likely because I didn’t dry the chicken thoroughly after the marinade. Super juicy and perfect in my opinion. Can’t wait to make more chicken over the vortex. Here are a couple of pictures of the finished product.

wow looks good and super fast

Thanks for all the comments and likes. I’m totally loving my kettle. This thing makes such amazing food. I even found my old bbq light and used it with it tonight. It made cooking in the dark a breeze. I’m still seriously considering that grill stone as well. BBQ Dragon did tell me that they would replace it if it broke from normal use as long as it was under warranty. We will see about that later though.

Yep, tried my Vortex Christmas present tonight for the first time on chicken thighs. LOVE THIS THING! Thighs were still a bit frozen, but they cooked through perfectly. Legs up next.

I have an old school Weber performer (no handle heat shield). Man oh man did the lid handle get HOT! Broke out the leather glove.

Excellent! It is amazing how much heat that puts on the lid. I’m glad your vortex cook was so successful. I’m thinking about making some more chicken on mine tomorrow.
