We made it good while it was still a TS. My wind gauge was the high at 37mph and rain was 5" Drove around yesterday and not many branches down, no large structures.

These weather people like to install fear and panic into people, they made it out to be "Get out now while you can"

Anyways

If you in the path of whats now hurricane elsa...........Stay safe

Nothing even moved.

I'd love to see a hurricane in my lifetime just not too closely. :emoji_laughing:
I've been in a few big T.S. down in Mexico, but nothing like a real hurricane or at least what I've seen of them on the news. For sure stay safe my friends, but keep an eye out for those pecan and fruit trees that take a beating.:emoji_thumbsup::emoji_laughing::emoji_thumbsup:

Glad to hear it passed you by.
I know what you mean about meteorologist's. Only people that can be wrong 50% of the time and still keep their jobs.
If they don't do "the sky is falling" ordeal though, and something does happen. Well you know where that would go.

Stay safe all in the path of Elsa !

Been in Florida since 1970, was in Ft. Lauderdale for Andrew. And been through several other hurricanes there and here in Sebring. Never had any real damage, just a big mess to clean up. Most of the damage is either flooding or tornadoes. I always wait until the last minute to prepare & only if it’s at least a Cat2 or higher.

When we were in Ft Pierce and thru our first hurricane we had the panic so we got a room at the LQ just down the street. LQ canceled our room and said no generator.

BUT

The weather channel took the whole hotel, brought in all their high end tv peeps and a huge fan inside of a truck with water. There was moderate activity from the hurrican but Jim was being blown all over in the lot of the LQ........Remember the big fan?.........Yeah

It stayed west of you made landfall south of me and all we should get is the rain. We've been getting the rain bands this morning and guess it will be awhile before they stop

I remember seeing a clip a couple of years ago with "weathercasters" leaning into the wind while people were walking around upright behind them.
Cameraman said OOPS....
Glad to hear you're OK.

Growing up in CA the only natural disasters I ever encountered were earthquakes, no big deal. Here in AZ there's nothing but unrelenting heat, you get used to it. Stay safe, good to hear there was no damage. RAT
