$75 for a TT? Damn! I get pissed when they are over $20. At least you enjoyed it.

To me the only way to cook them is on the Santa Maria grill. Gotta go to Walmart after I drop off the niece tomorrow. I will add a tri-tip to my list.
Right???
We are spoiled with inexpensive T.T. here in CA for some reason.

I have these out at the camp.
Nice . I have the flat one ,,,

better luck finding Bigfoot around hear than a Tri Tip
Hey , there's a tri tip on Bigfoot too .

Looks good Steve! I've only had it a couple times. There are a couple shops around me that carry it but pretty pricey.

Looks good from here.
That Piedmontese meat is something I have yet to experience.

I had an excellent teacher that pointed out the turn. Thanks Brian (@bmudd14474 ).
We (He) did the first 2 together at the 2024 So Fl Gathering.

Am I the only one who doesn't get the hype over tri-tip?
I thought that until I had one . I think some of it comes from guys that used to get it for under 2 bucks a pound .
I mean it's good , but ,,,,,
Not for this price .

First time I tried one a few years ago, I think it was $4.99 lb. Don't think I'd pull the trigger right now.

I just had to get that itch scratched. But, it'll be a looong time before I buy it for 37.00 a pound again. If at all.

Thanks! I normally. When I find them. Will grill hot and fast. This is the third or forth time I've done them like this. As long as you get a decent sear before putting in the oven. They come out great. I was a bit upset about putting this 75.00 piece of meat in the oven though!
I've always done a low 'n slow smoke at 225 followed by a hot 'n fast sear. Love that smokey flavor in my tri-tip.

Welcome to my world! Quality meat prices here are insane, but then, anyone who retires to a volcanic, earthquake-prone island in the middle of the Pacific is not completely sane. Embrace the horror! :D
