I know you are nervous but...2 hours per pound at 225°F is as Normal and Common as it gets. Nothing unusual happened and that butt should nearly fall apart by now. Enjoy your meal...JJ

Looks great, pulled shots should be coming soon!

I don't get your math, is this that new common core crap they are teaching kids now a days? 5 pounds times 2 hours per pound = 10 right???

5 pounds @ 22 hours is 4.4 hours per pound. At least that's what I was taught. I did quit taking math classes when a professor tried telling me that 2+2 didn't equal 4. I figured that was enough.

I'm still waiting patiently for my plate!

Ooopps...Missed the starting weight. I was commenting on 2 hrs per being normal but thinking of another post when I wrote, " Nothing unusual happened and that butt should nearly fall apart by now.  I'm gettin' old and easily confused...JJ

Over 4 hours per lb at 225 is insane.  Something doesn't seem right.  I've never had them go over 2 hours per lb, but I just don't get over 4.

yeah who knows. Last one I did took a long time too. Two different smoker thermometers and two different meat thermometers all in agreement. It's all down the toilet now anyway.

Forget the math... All that smoking = one great looking pork butt!
