May want to check into it but they changed AFM to DFM.
2021 - 2022 some didn't have because of shortages.

If it is/was such a great deal why make these available.

Edit: I do realize it was the Gov that made them do it.
That looks like a good option especially that it turns off the start/stop control. Unfortunately on a quick search the vin# shows it to be incompatible.

Many others out there. The disablers that are on the market "may" void warranties. They would be able to tell if they were installed.

even the ones that pug in to the port? I would think if removed they could not tell? then again there is a bunch of tracking crap in the pcm?

I don't know for sure but if you know someone that is in the mechanical business, may not hurt to question .
Somehow I would think it would be in the brain of the rig that it was disabled. 🤔

I've owned 2 new Tahoes with that 5.3 engine. I think they're the best vehicles I've ever owned. First was a 2002...over the 10 years I drove it, put over 150K miles on it without a single problem. When I traded it for another new Tahoe (2011), there wasn't anything at all wrong with the 2002. It was still going strong...I just got the itch for a new one. The 2011 was a great truck too. Traded it in 2019 for another new Chevy - a Colorado pickup this time. Only reason I didn't trade for another Tahoe is, they've gotten so ridiculous expensive, they've priced me out of them. A new one equipped about like my 2011 would be more than double what I gave for it in 2011. I really like the newest generation Tahoe - but I can't make myself give that kind of money for one.

My BIL has a '23 model. It sure is a nice truck, and he really likes it a lot.

That is why I don't buy new, all going for MSRP, not doing $78K++. My thought is, we will sell my wife's benz for about $13K. She loves it but does not drive much since working from home and the potential of a high $ repair is always there with those. She will get my 16 Outback that has a 153K on the clock. I can now sell my minivan as the Tahoe will be big enough for anything I need to deliver for work. That will get me a few K and drop the $1200 per year on insurance.

Is the odometer Kilometers or miles? I looked at buying a Ford a few years ago and the odometer was in frog miles.

Did you buy the Tahoe seems I've looked at several the last few days. I was on a lot today that had 2 used and 2 new Premiers They also had a used Tahoe High Country. Have forgotten the prices on the used ones but the 2 new ones were both 2025's and 1 was 77000 the other was 88000 both were Premiers but of course equipped different. The cheaper one still had all the basic fancy stuff the only real differences I can remember between them was the expensive one had the big moon roof, fancier rims, heads up view, and I think it had the camera view rearview mirror. Both had pretty much all the other stuff you'd expect on a vehicle at that trim level. I personally didn't see 11 grand worth of differences. Both with like a cream color seats one was white exterior and the other was a medium gray.
We were thinking about getting the one for 77000 but then they got in a 24 Suburban High Country with 17,000 miles and it was really loaded like I couldn't think of anything it didn't have. I think the Suburban had a little more leg room.
May be buying one of them next week

No we backed away from the Tahoe. I got my wife behind the wheel and she said no way (she is 5'1") So we are looking at smaller like a Infinity QX60 or maybe the Caddy X6.

I really liked the Tahoe we were looking at, any model of Chevy called High country is the top trim level and will pretty much have everything in it. Let us know if you pull the trigger.

Driving a 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser. Great vehicle, just broke 10K miles. Not that I would expect much interest on here for a Toyota. My FJ has 160K miles and turned down offers for 70% of what I paid for it in 2006. That's pretty good retention of value.

I was a Ford person for a long time, my last
explorer changed that!

I recently decided to upgrade my 2020 Colorado 2WD WT model. I bought it as a,quick retirement vehicle. It's been a great truck but stripped of all bells and whistles. I wanted to give Ford a shot since I made so much money from Ford in my career. I went out and drove 2023 Ranger Lariats and 2023 Colorado Z71's. To me hands down the Z71 won. Better ride , quiet cab and the interior attention to detail and tech was light years better. Found one a couple hours away loaded with every option and upgrade offered and pulled the trigger. Had 22000 miles on it which saved me 15000 off the sticker. I always buy a year or two old to save. Slapped a 7 year 80000 mile from day of purchase bumper to bumper warranty on it. I absolutely love it.

The less tech in a vehicle, the more I like it, with the exception of electronic fuel injection. I have a 72 Chevy K20 just waiting for me to start a frame off rebuild. I'll be adding fuel injection after I rebuild the motor. The newest trucks I have are two 2001 Chevy's, one a RCSB 2wd with the V6/5 speed manual. The other is a 2500HD 4wd with the Duramax/Allison combo. My wife's car is a 2019 Subaru which is the most techy thing we have. I hate all of the nanny controls and the GPS tracking on it.

Yes, I'm old school when it comes to my vehicles. My wife, not so much.

Nice looking truck Jeff is that the RST model with the Z71 package?

The price of new vehicles with new tech but the downsizing of engines is crazy to me.

I am a Toyota guy in the last decade and have a 2015 Toyota 4Runner. It has a 4 liter 270 HP engine. The gas mileage sucks because I added 1000+ Lbs of extras for off-roading but that was my choice. It is lifted and has rock sliders, skid plates, and a winch.

The new 4Runners have a 4 cylinder turbo engine that I can guarantee will not live up to the one I have and is now three times the price I paid for mine.

I have 41K miles on mine so it will last me as long as I can drive.

That's a pretty truck Jeff! Yours has more bells n whistles than mine. Mine is a 2019 LT trim level. Just enough creature comforts for me without all the tech.

I added the running boards and a spray-in bedliner...and it's everything I need. I've pulled a boat, utility trailers, and even a smaller travel trailer with it, and it pulls like a champ!

I've resolved to drive it until it dies, or I die...whichever comes first!

That is a nice truck. If I ever were to get into a pick up this or a Tacoma would be on top of my list.
