Hey there! Has anyone had an issue where their tel-tru analog read anywhere from 50°-100° lower than a digital thermo at the same grate level? I have 2 digital ones (maverick 733) and did the boil test with them and the tel-tru. They all read 215 on the money.
What would be causing the analog to suddenly read lower than the digitals?

What smoker are you using?

If it's a vertical, the outside edge will read higher than the center on the grate, but I've never seen one off by 100 degrees.

Al, thanks for the response. It's actually a 120 gallon custom offset. I put the 2 digital ones next to the analog (in the center of the smoker at grate level) to see and the two digital were reading the same.

Very confusing considering the tel true used to read the same. And they all read 215 in boiling water.

Just for the heck of it would you try to test them all in ice water too to see if they are the same there too.

I just don't understand what's going on. Something is not right.

I will try that this weekend and let you know how it turns out. I will also try to post pics. Thanks again.
