About 6 o'clock Sunday morning, Miss Linda and I were in the living enjoying our morning coffee, when this young cow moose wandered into our front yard.  She was out by the flower garden--not far from the window.  Much as we tried to be quiet, she could hear our muted conversation and didn't stay very long.  Only managed to get off half a dozen shots--unfortunately only with the camera.  LOL.

Lot of good moose ribs and jerky on the hoof there.  Sigh.  But.....it was a real nice way to start the day.

Hmm. I may have to see if we can do some kind of exchange. I don't know if we have anything interesting here in the Blue Ridge Mountains. You interested in some mighty fine home-brewed beer?

[quote No, no use for beer here, haven't had a drink in over 20+ years.[/quote]

In Canada that means you will be turning 21 soon! [emoji]128514[/emoji][emoji]128514[/emoji]

How do the feral hogs taste compared to their domestic brethren?
Totally depends on what they are feeding on, whether it is a boar or a sow, and the age of the hog. I'll take a sow under 100lbs. or a boar that has not dropped his nuts over a large boar any day and twice on sundays. Spring wild hogs are the best IMO, they feed on acorns and green grass shoots here locally and the meat is very clean. Got 120 lbs. of wild hog (all sows and young boars) along with 3 deer to process into sausage this weekend...if we can get it all done in one weekend that is...
