saw dust for your smoker

    Use a table saw.  Hook up a shopvac to the tablesaw.  Make sure the table saw was blown clean and shopvac to.  Hook up a dado blade in the tablesaw and start eating at a split log using a miter gage for support for safety.  The shopvac collects all the dust when you are cutting.  Don't use the wobble blade ones as they are not as smooth cutting.  Only use dry wood and not green.  Use a crosscut method and take little bites at it.  When the chunk of wood starts getting short stop using it.  Remember sfety first.  Round logs are more dangerous so split some wood like you would for the fireplace first.

    If you're gonna use a table saw, the way dasmoke said to do it, just about covers it.

    If you don't have a shopvac, just clean under your saw real good before & then gather your dust after.

    I have a close friend who cut off the first 3 fingers on his right hand November 15 using a table saw, they managed to reattach them and he is going through therapy now which will help get some use back, so be careful or order your dust from Todd...
