Went to SAM’s last Saturday to get some pork butts and other things.  Got over in the fresh vegetables and in the frig there was peeled garlic.  Thinking why not I got a box and then LOOKED, product of CHINA!!!!!  CHINA,  they grow it there in who knows what and put it on a ship, brought it to California and put in on a train or truck and brought it to Kentucky.   Am I missing something here like they passed Gilroy, California, garlic capital of the world.  I put it back.  The garlic with the skin on was from China also.

When will SAM’s and China-Mart learn?

We buy garlic at Sam's all the time.

Never even checked the Country origin, just figured it was the US.

Thanks I'll check next time!

I always look at the country of origin on the veggies and fruits.

Try to get USA made as often as possible.

I looked at alot of the powdered and granular stuff at Winn Dixie recently.

Most of it is from china.

Lawrys garlic powder had a label that read ..Packeed in USA.

I read an article last week about the new Bay Bridge in San Francisco.

All the steel and engineering was done in China.

Sheesh

Apple juice, try to find some produced in the USA.

I mean, apple juice from China?  Sheesh...

Lord knows what kind of crap they spray on what they grow over there.

Remember when pet food was killing pets ??  Seem the Chinese were losing too much rice to the rats so they put rat poison in the fields.

Unfortunately the poison got into the rice that was used to make pet food. Who knows what else it got into ????

Found this while I was doing some grocery shopping today. Looks like Market Basket has the China stuff in their produce dept too...

There has been a bug in the soil over in the Gilroy area for years.  They grow less and less garlic over there.

Gilroy is known as the "garlic capital of the world" thru self promotion and their dehydrating plant.

Even Christopher Ranch, which was one of their big growers?  I have heard that Christopher Ranch is importing some garlic from China and selling it under their own name.

Most of the California (Taxifornia) garlic is grown on the west side of the San Joaquin Valley, toward the south part of that region. The coastal areas in the Gilroy area are producing much less than they used to.

Good luck and good smoking.

Good thing we still have DaveOmak growing his own garlic. That garlic that you grew was some of the best garlic I have ever tasted.

I needed some steamer pans this weekend so while at Sam's Club I decided to check and sure enough, the peeled garlic is from China here in NC.

Last garlic I purchased was "Product of India". Didn't have a choice as I was all out.

Passed on the baby dills, also from India, and the fruit cups of peaches for the kids' lunches, which were from China.

Buy local whenever possible and would love to find some land to plant a larger garden.

Indian Summer is a pretty popular brand that is produced by US apples.  But some people have been saying that the version that walmart carries does not have the american flag on it that denotes it is a US product.  So keep an eye out for that.
