Reheating a butt

Joined Jul 16, 2010
Hi all,

I am smoking two butts for a company picnic on Friday, sadly today is the only day I have the time to cook them. So come Friday they are going to have to be reheated and I have a couple questions on this:

1. Is it better to pull the pork now while it's freshly cooked or should I wait until after the reheat?

2. What is the best way to reheat? I assume it will be in the oven but should it be at a low heat or will a higher heat for quicker warming be ok?

Thanks for any info you can offer.

It's better to pull it first & refrigerate it, then add some of the pan juices to the PP & reheat in a 325 degree oven in a pan with a foil cover.

It won't take too long, when it's hot just add some finishing sauce & your ready to go.

Yep, Al's got you covered on the oven option.

If you need to reheat at the site and there's no oven, you can reheat covered in slow cooker set on high or in a covered pot on a hotplate, induction plate, or camp stove (be careful with this one if it is a small stove).  I've done all three.
