I just found out Anthony Bourdain has passed away of apparent suicide. Not sure how many people know of him etc but he was a TV Chef and all. One of the more entertaining ones. Had dinner with Obama in Vietnam etc.

Sad to see him pass.

I traveled and ate my way around the world vicariously through Anthony Bourdain and his shows. RIP Tony.

I agree Skelly. My first exposure to him was on Bizarre Foods as a guest and I fell in love with his attitude right there.

Its always sad when someone is in so much pain that they feel this is the only way out. RIP.

Yes it is , but it's real to them .

This image popped up on my FB feed and I feel it's quite appropriate to share here concerning Anthony's passing..

I have to take a deep breath. I was yelling at my monitor yesterday morning. I can't openly share what's on my mind because to some it may appear disrespectful. I love what people accomplish with their lives, whether big or small. The challenges they overcome are sometimes immense. Anthony's were no exception.

I respect ALL choices people make. Some say I don't stand for anything because I won't fight the choices I wouldn't personally support. I say, no, I stand for everything because I defended the freedom of individuals to make choices, even those I don't agree with.....except suicide, murder, and inflicting pain on others.

I lost someone once, to suicide, as a result of the Viet Nam war. I can't help but wonder what choices he would have made if he had sought the help he needed to end his pain. I'm angry, I'm crying, and I'll be off here for a few days. Everyone have a great weekend.

Suicide isn't always a reaction to being in pain. Some people do it because of being diagnosed with a painful and terminal illness. Emotional pain isn't the only reason to do it. JS.
